1/18 Red Bull Racing, RB7, S.Vettel, 2011 Japanes GP, 3rd finished [Minichamps] item id: 110110301 The Red Bull RB7 is the seventh Red Bull Formula 1 car. It was designed and constructed by Adrian Newey and participated in all 9 races of the 2011 Formula 1 season. Rob White from Renault developed the V8 engine RS27-2011 with KERS. At the first race Red Bull relinquished the use of KERS in the RB7. The start of the 2011 season went well for Red Bull. Six of the first eight races were won by Sebastian Vettel and two times he captured second place. His teammate Mark Webber reached the podium four times. The closest competitors were the McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. In 2011 Vettel dominated in the RB7. He reached the podium 17 times, won 11 races and won the pole position 15 times. He led the drivers World championship after every race. In Japan a third place was enough to win his second driver World championship title already four races prior to season end. With only 24 years and 98 days Vettel passed Alonso as the youngest driver ever to win two Formula 1 World championship titles. Vettel won the following two races in Korea and India. In India he even reached a grand slam; he started from pole, never gave up the lead, won the race and achieved the fastest lap. At the second last race in Abu Dhabi Vettel gained his 14th pole of the season and was tied with Nigel Mansel, who reached 14 pole positions out of 16 races in 1992, with most Poles in one season. At the last race in Brazil Vettel won his 15th pole and set a new single season record for pole positions. During the race he had to retire for the first time that season after only the first lap.
